From Nurse Practitioner to Entrepreneur

I was born in Seattle, Washington, and grew up just 50 feet from the Pacific Ocean. My dad worked hard to give us the best life possible, but we didn’t have a lot of money. My mom encouraged me to attend college. After attending Seattle Pacific University and receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, I set my sights on becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Despite discouragement to move away from home, I received a full-ride scholarship to the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While attending school, I also worked nights and served as a nanny. After graduation, I worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Neurosurgery in Seattle before being recruited to the neurosurgery team at Duke University by my now-husband, John Gorecki.

When my husband was recruited to Kansas to oversee a neurosurgery practice, I started my first business, Healing Waters, in 2002. I may have been new to the spa industry, but with an incredible team by my side and plenty of hard work, we brought the first Healing Waters to life in Wichita.

After countless mistakes and stressful days, I turned challenges into opportunities, creating not just Healing Waters but also the Pure Md skincare line. Along the way, I’ve gained invaluable lessons and discovered a deep passion for supporting fellow business leaders, entrepreneurs, and non-profits and organizations I believe in. For me, faithfulness always comes before success, and with God's grace, the businesses flourished and many lessons were learned.

I love working with businesses, organizations, and leaders to help them become their best—whether it’s raising revenue, securing necessary funds, improving operational efficiency, or developing a strong team. I continue to develop Pure MD and volunteer my time in my community and other nonprofits needing operational support. I am a wife, mom, friend, nurse practitioner, and businesswoman who values faith, family, and health.
